Our pastoral staff recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.
Scott Thompson

Senior Pastor
Scott Thompson is from Slidell, Louisiana and grew up outside Shreveport, Louisiana.  He graduated from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree, from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree, and from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Cordova, Tennessee with a Doctor of Ministry degree.  Scott received the Outstanding Senior Preaching Student Award from East Texas Baptist University.
 
Scott has served churches in Louisiana, served as Louisiana Baptist Convention  President, on the Executive Committee of the Louisiana Baptist Convention, as trustee for the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home, and on various associational committees.
 
Dr. Thompson has traveled and led groups on international missions trips to Mexico, Ukraine, Russia, Zambia, Malawi, and India.  These trips were focused on evangelism, church planting, and training indigenous pastors for the work of ministry.
Scott is a chaplain in the Louisiana Army National Guard and has served the 527th Engineer Battalion in Ruston and the 1/244th AVN REG in Hammond.  Scott currently serves the 204th TAOG in Hammond. He takes great pride in providing ministry to the warriors who defend and protect the citizens of the United States of America.
 

In 2013, Scott became the pastor of Woodland Park Baptist Church. He is married to the former Renee’ Belanger and they are the parents of one son and one daughter.

He is looking forward to leading the church in prayer, worship, discipleship, evangelism, and missions so the people of Hammond will know Jesus loves them and they can know Jesus Christ, grow in Jesus Christ, and show Jesus Christ.

Bryan McDonald
Associate Pastor of
Music & Senior Adults
 

Bryan McDonald came to Woodland Park Baptist Church on April 26, 2015.  He has led traditional and contemporary worship services in multiple Southern Baptist Churches throughout Missouri and Texas.  Bryan has also conducted choirs at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  He has received several honors for conducting and voice performance.  Bryan earned his Bachelor of Music in Church Music from Southwest Baptist University, his Master of Music in Church Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing the Doctorate of Musical Arts in Church Music from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

His interests and hobbies include reading, teaching, music, culture, movies, and philosophy. Bryan’s favorite verse is Colossians 3:16 ” Let the Word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Bryan and his wife, Lindsey, were married June 11, 2011. He is excited to be serving and ministering at Woodland Park Baptist Church and looks forward to what God has in store for His church.
 
Robert Trigo
Associate Pastor of Discipleship
and Administration

Robert Trigo was born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana. He gave his life to Christ in February of 1999 and shortly after he surrendered to ministry. He graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. 

In 2012 Robert began serving at Woodland Park Baptist Church as the interim Youth Minister. Since then he has transitioned into the College Minister. He also serves as the Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Administration.

Robert has a passion to serve others, study God’s Word and see people grow in their faith. Robert and his wife, LaDonna, have two children and they love sharing life together. 

 
 Rebecca Galloway
Children’s Minister
Rebecca came on staff as part-time Minister of Children at Woodland Park Baptist Church in February, 2016. She has served the Lord in various children’s ministries, participated in children’s camp as a counselor and given faithful service at New Zion Baptist Church, Covington, LA. 
 
Rebecca holds the Bachelor of Science in Accounting and the Master of Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University.  Sensing a call from God to carry out children’s ministry, Rebecca continues her education at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary pursing the Master of Arts in Christian Education with a concentration in Children’s Ministry.
